R&R in Buchan

Day 8: May 14th

A rest day today.

Pulled Mawson down and did some maintenance. Air filter and fixed some damage from “rolling into Dargo”.

Day 8-11

Day 8-10

The right hand front faring got a little beaten up, sporting quite a few cracks. I superglued them up to help stop it getting any worse. I toyed with the idea of putting my Dargo stick on the scar. Still might. “Fuckin Dargo mate!” Won’t be forgetting “rolling into Dargo” in a hurry.

I repacked more of the spares and tools into the front faring to help keep the nose on the ground in steep climbing. Got the rope up front too. Lots of little tweaks and a few fixes. I didn’t take any shot but I think Raman might have a few. Still haven’t got his images downloaded into lightroom yet.

We are camped at the Buchen caves for another night.

Lots of deciduous trees.

Ginkgo Biloba, a remnant from Gondwana. I find this tree intriguing.

What a haven of colour.
